About us
Chameleon Jo Productions is a not-for-profit creative arts company founded in January 2009 based in Fredericton, NB. We build confidence, character and community in children, teens, and young adults using music, theatre, dance, storytelling, clowning, puppetry, and other art forms.
Through large-scale productions, private lessons, workshops and training opportunities we encourage young people to find their own voices and learn to speak up for those whose voices might not otherwise be heard in the world. The young people find a safe place to belong. They learn to believe in themselves and in the power of working together while building up skills in the creative arts.

Joanna Doak
Founder/Artistic Director
Joanna Doak is the founder and artistic director of Chameleon Jo Productions. Her goal is to empower young people by developing their skills in the creative arts. Jo's unique approach involves building community among her actors that extends beyond the stage as they "experience someone else's feelings and feel someone else's experiences."
For 25 years, Jo has trained, counselled, and educated children and young adults in a variety of professional and volunteer settings. Jo has performed internationally on three continents and in two cross-Canada tours.
A graduate of the University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Fine Arts, Jo also earned a Masters of Divinity from Acadia University. She has studied Creative Arts Facilitation at the Tatamagouche Center and she participated in the first Canadian Director's Lab in Toronto in 2011.

Cuts, and bruises, and monsters…oh my! Fairies, and unicorns, and superheroes…what fun! We can do it for you or teach you how to do it for yourself!
Your little one has a great imagination! We encourage them use it in a safe and accepting environment to create a show of which they can be proud.
Young Company
For youth between the ages of 13 and 18, the Young Company is designed to provide multi-level training to create the next generation of theatre performers and technicians.
